We gave fashion stylist and costume designer Sayuri Murakami the task of creating functional artwork that people can enjoy in their everyday life. Murakami has is a seasoned art director and has contributed to some of the industry's top publications—Vogue Russia, Harper's Bazaar, L'Officiel and Fashion Gone Rogue to name a few. She worked on three different HICKIES installations: the Cube, the Chairs and the Lights.
A whopping 4,000 HICKIES were used to decorate the chairs shown below. Through this piece Murakami highlights how beauty and function can co-exist in the same space. It also exemplifies how our no tie laces can completely change the way one thinks about traditional home furniture.
