Hometown: Plymouth, MN
Strength and conditioning, sport specific training.
On weekends you can be found:
Hopefully, sleeping in. Usually I'm either biking or running around Brooklyn, hanging out at different parks reading or just enjoying being outside, finding amazing spots for brunch, exploring all that Brooklyn and Manhattan offer, or simply catching up on Hulu/Netflix.
Favorite movie of all time:
Woah, just one? I like way too many to list, but I do know Bridesmaids verbatim :)
Favorite time of day to train:
Really late at night (11pm-1am) or ridiculously early in the morning (4-6am). There is a whole new breed of people and a different kind of energy being brought by those that are crazy enough to be working out at that time.
A quote you live by:
"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment."-Ralph Waldo Emmerson
Your personal mantra:
"With brave wings she flies"
Your favorite part about HICKIES:
To be able to take a year off to travel the world and indulge in as many cultures as possibles.
Favorite training technique:
Resistance or circuit training.
Favorite post-workout snack:
Just a snack??? Brown rice, grilled chicken, broccoli, avocado, with chipotle sauce and a side of sweet potatoes. Or a smoothie with peanut butter, banana, spinach, milk, and chocolate whey protein :)
How did you get into fitness?
I have always been an athlete. I was always in the gym staying in shape and working out with friends. I just decided that I wanted to learn and understand what it was that I was doing when I was working out from a scientific reason and why.
